UPS Network Management Cards (NMC)
The current industrial environment requires high availability, which means that minimising breakdowns is becoming increasingly important. The UPS network management card enables the monitoring of the system via a PC and web browser (with the opton of activating SSL security) from anywhere. Thanks to an integrated web interface and e-mail system, you can save on an SNMP network monitoring system and enable UPS monitoring by all those who require it. 10/100BaseT network management cards from Gutor allow the monitoring of individual systems such as UPS, commutator, battery charger / commutator or battery monitoring system. This works in that these systems connect directly with the network via the IP address provided. Thus all data and events can be viewed for the system connected. The network management card (NMC) is compatible with all standards such as TELNET/SSH, FTP, http, HTTPS (SSL) and SNMP.
Characteristics and benefits
Monitoring
Allows the monitoring of your system
by direct connection to the network.
Security
Recognition and encryption functions provide
effective access control and safety for
SSL browsers and SSH meetings.
Browser access
You can look at the user interface using an Internet browser such as
IE or Netscape. You have access to the network management card
from every computer within the network.
Event log
Follow the period and sequence of events
that have led to an incident in the event log.
Data log
Recognise problematic developments before they
become a real problem or export the log for analysis.
Flash upgrade
Install updated of Firmware from anywhere via FTP access.
Network time protocol
Set the system time of the card with the help of the network protocol server (NTP server).
Action configuration according to seriousness
Configure what should occur for specific incidents. Select
options such as the sending of an e-mail or an SNMP telegram.
Write-protected access
The write-protected acces user mode gives you the option to share access.
without the risk of unauthorised configuration changes to the system.

All Gutor systems can be integrated into a common network thanks to the individual IP address.
Extending an existing UPS using an NMC
Existing UPS systems from Gutor can be extended using a triple chassis AP9604S, which has the same network monitoring capacity.

Smartslot triple chassis
The triple chassis includes the network management card and also has two other slots for future options. It can be directly installed in the UPS casing, which enables simple extension and connection.

Description of acronyms
SNMP Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a network management system used for monitoring participants on the network, under conditions that required administrative attention.

TELNET TELNET a network protocol that is used by Internet or LAN connections. It is normally used to conduct user-related command line meetings via the Internet.

SSH Secure Shell or SSH is a range of standards and the network protocol associated with them, which guarantee a secure connection between a local and an external computer.

FTP File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a widespread protocol for exchanging computer files via any network which supports the TCP/IP protocol.

HTTP Hypertext Transfer Protokoll (HTTP) is a method for transferring information via the World Wide Web.

HTTPS HTTPS protocol schema is written identically to the HTTP schema that is used for access to resources via HTTP. Using an HTTPS URL means that HTTP is used but via a different standard connection and an additional decryption / authentification layer between HTTP and TCP.

SSL Safe Socket Layer (SSL) is a cryptographic protocol, which enables secure communication via the Internet. It is used for e-mail, internet faxes and other data transfers.
